About my card πŸ™‚

First ever try using Tall card (21cmx7.5cm) and maiden attempt at Mixed media on card.

Pattern paper is taken and gessoed down completely. Then its sponged with spiced marmalade DI. Took TCW – tile stencil and microbial stencil and randomly stencilled it using prima modelling paste.

Took prima Texture clear crackle and applied at an uneven fashion and hit heat gun.

IBS background stamps are stamped on bg using Black Archival ink.

Spellbinders Floral ovals die (newest die in my stash) -smallest diecut is taken and the edges are sponged using mermaid lagoon (new in my stash) and its matted with a piece of crocheted ribbon. A MFT riveria corner diecut is sponged using peeled paint is added on it.

Floral spray made using roses – orange, green and white with Cheerylynn roses medium rose leaves. A seam binding ribbon is misted with inks of spiced marmalade and peeled paint and crinkled bow is tugged under the floral spray with a resin blue flower. K&Company bird sticker (new in my stash) is added near floral spray.

Unity stamp butterfly is heat embossed using UTEE clear EP and added. IBS sentiment is added on a banner. Splatters of Black soot and water down gesso are added for that final touches.

Hope you are more excited as we are.

Happy Hopping Guys!!

Create Yourself!!

“Life isn’t about Finding…Its about Creating Yourself”

And what goes best with this…other than Butterfly!!!

Yup its especially for More than Words challenge whose 1st challenge is about Personality & Selfie.

This is one of my personal favorite selfie and i love to use that for this theme. Butterfly symbolises a free spirit kind and it just matches my personality. This art form has given me such freedom and liberty to let free of myself to explore me much.

Took 8″x10″ canvas and primed with gesso.
Then roughly figured out the area for the one side of butterfly wing and started to paint it with Prima’s Antique pink chalkboard paint, as other side decided to use Picture.
The edges of butterfly are made with the Prima’s modelling paste and hit with Lindy’s Opal sea oats spray.

Used TCW stencil “Art is” for all outer textures and its hit by LSG glory of seas gold spray. This spray edged butterfly’s wings on its periphery so well.
Applied prima crackle clear texture paste inside the wing and hit the heatgun. Wanted to mimic the butterfly a bit for its textures and so used TH bubbles stencil using Prima modelling paste. Then hit by LSG cocklebells coral spray.

Then for the embellishments part, used florishes chipboard which was primed with gesso and misted with LSG glory gold spray and highlighted with Inka gold gold. It topped up with Prima resin piece which is gessoed, misted with LSG coral spray and highlighted as above.

A floral cluster is made using roses, hip roses, mini roses and mulberry flowers.  Roses are heat embossed using Ranger fine gold Ep.

And the bubbles textures are highlighted by inka gold gold. To mimic even more butterfly wing, took cabochon domes, sprayed with Glimmer mist black and hit by heat gun. When the mist were about to dry completely, took baby wipe and wiped central part, so that a circle is formed mimicing the eyes on butterfly wings.

Diagonal corner of the canvas are heat embossed using Stampendous Shabby pink Ep, which is new in my stash. Am in love with those chunky Eps. Then Black gelatos are used for the corner highlighting of canvas and the stencilled textures.

Two butterfly stickers for the extra final touch to finish off the canvas.

Hope you like it!!

Dream On!

Hey Hi All,

Officially first post on this New year πŸ™‚

Dream on!!!

Mini canvas 5″x7′ used here.

First primed with Prima Chalkboard paint – Egg blue, as i needed a base blue color for project.

Applied Prima clear crackle paste heavy at the centre followed by thinning out at corners.

Hit heat gun to bring out textures and after which took Prima modelling paste to bring about those frosty spikes at the periphery of the canvas.

Once its all dried up, series of LSG mists, glimmer mists, were sprayed and dried with heat gun at every spray to fix up the colors.

Interesting part is the butterfly and one of my fave too. Stamped that gorgeous big butterfly from Sosuzystamps (new in my stash) on a 300gsm watercolor cs using Black Archival ink. Then used Lsg blue mist, metallic gelatos in purple and blue and black soot distress ink to color the butterfly. And then i smooshed versamark inkpad directly to the butterfly and heatset using UTEE Clear Ep and repeated twice. It just beautifully curved to give natural look.

The florishes is a memory box diecut which is gold heat embossed. Then for those gold around the florishes, sprayed versamark refill ink and added gold Ep and heat embossed it.

Then for all those frosty spikes, applied inkagold – Gold using hands, to bring out the textures.

Dream on – the sentiment is self made using various IBS sentiments. Its stamped on archival ink on watercolor paper, sprayed with blue lsg and distressed using black soot DI.

Hope you like it!

Wanna start my New year with loads of Gratitude…

Its a CAS card with no layers, no embellies. Just a simple card with Watercoloring! Yes my recent addiction are these Watercolors and Mixed media techniques πŸ™‚

Stampendous Sunflower stamp is heat embossed using Ranger’s white opaque embossing powder on one corner of textured watercolor panel. Watercolored using Tchibo Aquarelle pencils using various colors. Surrounding area of the flower are watercolored loosely using gathered twig DI and Tumbled glass DI.

Wished to add  sunrays and used paperstrip and started to add Mustard seed DI using dauber at a corner of card front.

Sentiment from Wplus9 is stamped using Black archival ink, to finish off the card.

I hope to have inspired you.

Altered Box

This time an altered box which originally housed Pretty Wooden hearts.

Its just a cute little 4″ Square box with compartments. Was eyeing from the time i purchased those and had one such pretty moment to alter it….

Yeah…I made this for a blogger pal who is a wonderful soul, whose amazing talent is to turn any Trash (from micro to macro level) into Treasure. Her imagination is beyond human measure and am at awe at everytime of my visit to her blog.

She’s none other than deary Rupa of Tofa. Its a must see.. must bookmark.. blog. Do visit and am sure you are gonna be mesmerised by the projects there πŸ™‚

She has got my teeny tiny RAK and its time to post pics here…

Now left to her to say about it…As she is an expert in Altered Project…Its just my baby step in the altered art world πŸ™‚

Process:

The back of the box is first coated with Prima chalk paint Sand and applied Prima White clear Crackle paste by hand in an uneven fashion. And after few minutes, started those moments of crackles…And was pretty enjoying those.

After is dried completely applied Rich cocoa momento ink and those crackled crevices took up those inks beautifully and the textures look were real yum…Sure am gonna try these lines of projects soon.

On the front, measured each compartment and it perfectly fitted for Cuttlebug square diecuts which are took from pp. The edges are sponged with toffee crunch momento ink, to give shabby effect and then modpodged it using Matt version.

Made floral sprays using Big blooms are brushed with wink of stella clear, few leaves, hip roses, mini roses. Prima resin frame (colored using prima chalkpaint – pink) housed a Love cabochon and few pearl strings added to it. Resin heart, prima resin swirls (colored with momento ink slightly, brushed with wink of stella clear), Kaisercraft Label banner – Friends , TH word band, 2 pink glitter alphas, few pearls.. all took its respective places to sync well πŸ™‚

Now its your turn to say about this work πŸ™‚ Would love to hear it from you.

Altered Bottle with Mixed media touch :)

Exactly an year since prima workshop, first ever workshop of that kind in India by Prima educator and my dear friend Bipasha Kashyap. Lucky enough to attend that in chennai and had been so lucky to see her Mixed media Demo as a topping for our 2 day workshop, which has given me wings.. must say to explore myself in this art πŸ™‚

Altered bottle…first every try!

Its a 9 inch tall Olive oil bottle which i had soaked in warm soapy water for a day to peel off the stickers from it.

Next i sanded with a sanding block to give tooth to the surface before i prime it.  Gessoed down completely with 2 coats and after drying it completely, took kitchen tissue crumbled pieces and start to adhere using Modpodge Matt. Adhered at an uneven fashion to get a textured base.

Then when all dried up, coated with Prima Chalkboard paint Egg blue of 2 coats drying up completely at every coat. Me seems no happy…you see…now am on an MM addiction πŸ˜€

Close up shots of Textures πŸ™‚

Took Prima clear crackle paste and started to apply on the  surface with hand and hit heat gun to bring out the textures. Little more for textures…misted cheesecloth modpodged on the bottle just for the focus.

From top of the bottle, i sprayed Lindy’s stamp gang sprays  – Azure sea asters (for blue), Sea mint green and Opal sea oats (brown) in a one by one fashion and drying up at each spray to set the color.

Then started the embellishment. I just kept minimum to show off the textures as focal element here,

Prima resin frame, laces, local bought resin flowers,  butterfly stickers, crocheted laces, pearl strings, Dream cabochon, bottle cap, Mixed flowers floral spray for the embellishment part.

In the last pic, i have added a light blue washi tape like a belly band around the bottle centrally to add little interest to it.

Want to end 2015 with an Inspiration and so this ‘DREAM’ titled project πŸ™‚

Dare to Dream….
Don’t Say them…Show them!!

Wishing you loads and loads of success, joy, peace in the forthcoming years.
Very Happy New year 2016 to all my blogger pals, visitors πŸ™‚

After a long time, Shabby chic layered card from me…This time from Winter wonderland πŸ™‚

Bought few So suzy stamps (SSS)..must say i love those for their cute font sentiments and the lovely image sentiments.

Now onto card πŸ™‚

Took 15cm square top fold card. Matted with 2 layers.

To the first layer stamped Kaisercraft wood stamp using Toffee crunch momento ink and sponged their edges using Rich cocoa momento ink. Then using scissors, ran it around the edges of the card to give a distressed look.

The next layer is prepared using embossing paste on a stencil and heat embossed using wow nice blue glitter Ep . It wasnt that visible here as i topped up with a piece of biege lace at one end, Cheerylynn Florish diecut at another corner and lastly a cheese cloth for all that shabby look.

The image is stamped on a piece of watercolor paper and using Archival black stamped SSS winter girl and masked her and stamped the christmas trees (SSS) around her. And keeping the mask, smooshed versamark ink below her to create a snowbank sort of and heat embossed using Ranger’s white opaque Ep.

I just water colored her using Tchibo aquarelle pencil and using stickles diamond traced the snowbank and sprinkled POP white microbeads . And using Colorbox white frost sponged lightly on and around trees and sprinkled with Ranger’s white opaque Ep and heat embossed.

Brushed wink of stella clear on top and side of card, added wow nice blue Ep and heat embossed it for that little extra shine and glam.

Those icicles are made using Hot glue gun and to it added perfect pearls powder using water. Few vellum snowflakes diecuts added with pearls centre and those are highlighted using wink of stella clear glitter.

Added 2 corner diecuts in silver cs and a sentiment banner which are sponged lightly at corners using toffee crunch to finish off the card. Except the first layers, all layers are popped up using foam adhesives.

Another corner is sponged with peeled paint and shabby shutters for the ground.
Stamped silhouette wild flower stamps at a end with few dragonflies using Black Archival ink.
Mounted a distressed banner with IBS sentiment using foam squares.

Took A2 sized prescored cs and masked vertical areas on both sides for sponging.
From down end, started with peeled paint and shabby shutters and slightly with Black soot DIs.
Then from top end, sponged with stormy sky.
Stamped silhouette wildflowers and butterflies stamps using archival black ink.

Let it Snow :)

Second post for today…This card has been sitting to be blogged for a while now and so thought to share.

Yeah…a simple CAS styled one with no fancy embellies or layers πŸ™‚

5″x7″ kraft cs is matted with a watercolor panel which is smooshed with versamark ink from top directly from inkpad and embossed with white opaque wow embossing powder, just to mimic the falling snow.

Below which, using LSG spray , loosely spread the mist with plenty of water and prepared the front panel. Small scrap piece of white cs taken which is smooshed with versamark and embossed with silver fine embossing powder and then its used to diecut Cheerlynn snowflake diecuts. Its one of those easy ways to emboss the teeny tiny diecuts.

Silver embossed IBS sentiment on vellum and a piece of silver grey glitter tape to finish off the card.
Hope you like it!
