Guest Designing at IBS

Hi friends,

This is Sathya from Paperie Expressions. Am excited to share my Guest Design project for the month of June at IBS. If you have missed my earlier post using two Fabulous floral stamps, you can check here .

For today, i have come up with a mixed media project, using Gorgeous Butterflies Stampset.

Let’s get started!

  • Took 5″x7″ canvas and gessoed it with Clear Gesso.
  • Added Wendy Veichchi Embossing paste (Translucent) on the diagonal corners of the canvas and with that added cheesecloth.
  • Few strings are randomly to create further textures.
  • The canvas is misted with Lindy’s gang sprays.
  • The butterflies are stamped using Black Archival ink and colored using Gelatos. Highlights are added using Fabercastell Polychromos pencils.

  • Then colored butterflies are fussy cut, Ranger’s UTEE clear Heat embossed.
  • The canvas is randomly stamped using script stamp from Forever friends stampset and black archival ink.
  • Same stamp is stamped onto a chipboard and added as a focal interest.
  • To that added a vellum strip of sentiment from the Butterflies stampset.
  • Few Prima mini art stones and some gold glitter dots are added randomly for interest.
  • Finally butterflies are added using Hot glue gun.

Hope you liked today’s project.

All Chalked up!!

Hi Friends,

Made few chalkboard projects for Mudra few weeks before, thought to share here.

Chalked Bookmarks , Chalked Notecards, Chalked Gift Tags :

Chalked Bookmarks:

  • Took black cs in 2.25″x6″ and white heat embossed sentiments from Bookmarks stampset and Hot air ballon from Beachfun Stampset.
  • Then using tissue, buffed white pigment ink over the embossed and surrounding areas to give a chalkboard effect.
  • Bordered the panel with white colored pencil.
  • Went ahead and matted this over a white cs.
  • Then laminated this bookmark and added a black satin ribbon as final touch.
Chalked Notecards:

  • These are 3.5×3.75″ notecards which i attempted to do Table art, by showcasing these on mini easels for a daily Inspirational kick at workspace 🙂
  • I took sentiments from FarewellDare to fly stampsets and white heat embossed it along with feathers from Dreamcatcher and chevron washi from Washis stampset.
  • Buffed white pigment ink over the embossed areas.
  • Highlighted panel by white colored pencil scorings.
  • Matted with White cardstock.
  • Laminated the panels to make sturdy.
Chalked Gift Tags:

  • Was hoarding these thick colored cardboard hearts for a long time now.
  • Went ahead and black gessoed it heavily.
  • White heat embossed the sentiments from Mixed Greetings stampset.
  • To add little extra detailing, stamped flourishes from Vintagey Florishes stampset around the sentiments.
  • Added natural linen ribbon and a teeny tiny ivory Raffia bow as final touch.
Hope you like these inspirations using Chalkboard technique.

Noline Coloring : Roses

Hi Friends!

Am playing along the daily marker 30 day challenge and today i find little time to do a watercolored Roses card.

A quick jump into my creations for today!

A novice attempt at No line coloring….I never attempted at a solid stamp for noline coloring. So tried today with this Deep Red Stamps -Rose blooms.

Stamped its using Antique linen, colored with fave Zig real brush pens and all highlights using Fabercastell polychromos.

And finally splatters using the Splatter brush of the colors which i used for coloring.

All time fave sentiment to finish off the card.

Few dew droplets as final touches.

Hope you like it!

“Find the stuff that makes your Soul sing…And be your own Kind of Unique Beautiful Self”

I have been practicing coloring in different medium and my Fabercastell polychromos is my birthday gift last year, which is my recent crush.

Made a simple online coloring card using these colored pencils.

  • Stamped those lilies from Clearly besotted in a light ink.
  • Colored these using fabercastell polychromos.
  • Fussy cut and Mounted on a embossed black cardstock for little texture.
  • The sentiment diecut is colored using Versamagic ink and clear embossed to give a bold effect agains the bg.
  • Few enamel dots to match the flowers.
Hope you like this!!

Beautiful day!

Hi Crafty pals,

Made this card for Altenew’s Year in review Challenge .

I have chosen June 2016 for Today’s project, as i wanna play along that challenge and couldn’t do due to my Vacation in June. At last had a chance to play now.

Am much inspired by the lovely colors, all those sparkles, Gorgeous blooms…

  • Took a half white A2 cardbase.
  • Stenciled with Prima Poppy stencil with Prima Lightpaste and sprinkled Stampendous White jewelkit chunky white Embossing powder and heat set it.
  • Just to mimic that all those touches of sparkle in the Inspiration pic.
  • Stamped Beautiful day stampset on watercolor paper, colored using Zig clean color brush pens, and fussy cut all florals leaves and infloresence clusters.
  • Just to give a fabric touch, added a White Tulle.
  • Onto which, Prima resin frame added, for all those dimension and layerings. It was totally lost sight due to the floral spray arrangement.
  • Few clear droplets are added as final touch.
  • Sentiment stamped on vellum and added on to the card.
Hope you like it!

Hi Friends!!

After a long time, i made a card just for creating….Yes just for the joy of making it. Not as DT commitment 😉

  • Used cheesecloth, which is tucked under pleating.
  • A circular resin piece is added to the central doily with a tulle as base layer.

  • Stenciled a portion of focal panel with Modelling paste using TCW Tile Stencil to create a texture on the otherwise plain base.
  • Few flowers, florish diecuts are added with a cute little biege bow.
  • Dry brushed gesso on flowers.
  • Added Prima mini artstones are added for little interest.
