MHK June Release – Open Bloom

Am excited to welcome you to the June 2016 MHK Designs release. We have some really fun sets to check over the next few days, as well as chances to win either one of the sets OR all of them!.

Open bloom is the focus digi design today 🙂

My take on this design:

Flowers are printed in different sizes and colored using Faber castell bicolor pencils. Sentiment directly printed on the focal panel and distressed at one end with Mustard Seed DI and arranged these flowers.



Then matted the focal panel on Beautiful brocade brown paper and then to A2 ivory card base.
This finishes off this simple card.

MHK New Release – Perfect Poppies

Am excited to welcome you to the April 2016 MHK Designs release. We have some really fun sets to check over the next few days, as well as chances to win either one of the sets OR all of them!

Perfect poppies is the focus design for today:




My take on this design


Took A2 sized vanilla cardstock as base. The poppies are colored using Zig clean color brush pens. Fussy cut and heat embossed using UTEE clear to make it glossy and to use as embellishment.

I just took sentiment from same digi set and framed using Party hardy – Red Houndstooth digi paper (its a must have paper pad with various lovely collection). You are gonna see me using this paper often here after 🙂 


I love this sentiment a lot and culdn’t resist myself and so was keeping it as my wallpaper/screensaver, Watsapp DP from the day i have done this card 🙂



Above pic shows the close up of the pretty flowers. Loved coloring it…Its so rich and vibrant as it looks here and the red color just pops the ivory base cs.

These flowers are added using foam adhesives at different heights to show some depth between the flowers.

Stitched sunflower is the focus design today 🙂
My take on this 

I have diecut the design in a oval scallop and sponged Tumbled glass DI. Colored the sunflower using Zigclean color brush pens. Then matted this on the Spellbinder oval florals white diecut.

Then further matted this on Sunflower sampler– Digi paper – Yellow chevron. (Must say this digi paper, is such a lovely collection. Never Miss it!)

The front panel is matted on a lightt green A2 cardbase, with a yellow polka dot ribbon with sentiment banner topping on it. The sentiment banner is sponged with peepled paint DI on edges.

My take on this set!


These flowers from set caught my eyes 🙂

I just wanna bring about its beauty and so this 3D effect kind. 
Digital images have one advantage that…it can be resized to any desired limit and sky is the limit in designing the final piece 🙂



Just took this floral image in different sizes, but accidentally DH took it on a pearlescent glossy sheet. Since i planned to watercolor these images, thought it would be difficult. But to my surprise, it turned out so well when i watercolor these with Zig real brushes. The vibrant colors just made it to stand out against the light green shade embossed cardbase. Being pearlescent sheet, it just gives a pearl sheen to the whole image and it looks great in real. 

I just watercolored and hit with heatgun at intervals, which resulted in shaded look on the petals. Zoom a bit to see the effects. As always, i fussy cut the images and arranged to give a layered floral spray look on a sponged oval scalloped diecut, which is popped up using foam adhesive on the embossed cardbase. Peach pearl centres added to the flowers for that little punch 🙂 


Must say…its one of my fave set of Feb release. 

Today is the final Feb release and hope you like my experiments with these sets.

My take on this set!


This time, a super simple Tag 🙂

Matted MHK designs Beautiful brocade pp on 2nd largest Sizzix Tag diecut.  Added this cute bunny image with sentiment. Colored the image using Zig color brushes and distressed the edges with Tumbled glass DI. A little twine added to finish off the Tag 🙂

My take on this set!


Love this Lily image a lot. Colored using my Zig color brushes and fussy cut and added to the Spellbinders Divine Eloquence 2nd largest diecut in white. Added coral pearl centres to flowers and matted on a light coral Az sized cardbase.

My take on this set!

The image is matted on the MHK designer paper – Stenciled Roses. Colored using zig real brushes selectively on few places on images, just to highlight the beauty of the cute image. A baby pink satin ribbon and few embellies were used to just to bring focus on the lovely image 🙂 This matted on to the A2 sized pink side fold card.
