Amazing Paper Grace+Spellbinders: Floral card

 Hiya Friends,

Am here today for my Weekly Wednesday post for Amazing Paper Grace by Becca Feeken using their newly launched dies Spellbinders Picot Petite Circles (SKU: S5-431)

Flowers are made using Cinch and Go IV and leaves from Candlewick Rosebud dies

This is how the dies look like.

  • Took a cream colored 4″ square card base. Notched the top corners.
  • Matted with pastel shaded Patterned paper.
  • Took second largest die of Picot Petite circle and cut one in cream cardstock and one in pastel mint pattern paper and glued together.
  • Took smaller die and die-cut onto pastel peach patterned paper.
  • Sentiment is stamped in smaller die-cut and matted onto larger die-cut using foam tape.
  • Then this matted onto the 4″square cardbase as shown using liquid adhesive.
  • Handmade flowers and leaves are moulded and placed onto the card as shown.
  • Paper-pieced a floral spray from Patterned paper and added to the cardbase.
  • A string of white pearls are added bordering the sentiment die-cut to create interest.
This finishes off my card. Hope you like it!

Introducing Amazing Paper Grace Picot Petite Collection

Amazing Paper Grace has gone back to her roots with classic sewing inspired motifs! Introducing the Picot Petite Collection!

Becca Feeken sent over these lovely dies for me to try.

Over time we’ve had lace-inspired designs and have loved the feel of Hemstitching and Candlewicking. Reminiscent of needlework and treasured handwork proudly displayed, Becca Feeken has developed another classic line of layering shapes that feel so much like tatting or picot crochet.  As you might imagine, these shapes are crisp, clean, and timeless. Whether you are simply adding a classic layer to a card or cutting an aperture to highlight a lovely sentiment – these shapes mix and match with other sewing inspired motifs as well as intricate backdrops.

Today you’re in luck! Our Creative Team is sharing makes from the Picot Petite Collection.

Classic Shapes are Timeless

With each Classic Collection, Amazing Paper Grace creates the most popular die-cutting shapes in oval, round, square, and rectangles. Moreover, these classic shapes mix and match with Hemstitch Classics, Candlewick Classics, Elegant Twist Classics, and now Picot Petit.

The Inspiration behind Picot Petite

If you’ve ever seen tatting, the little loop produced along the edge is called a “picot”.  It’s this little loop that is the basis for the border on all of the Petite Picot shapes.  They are lovely as a backdrop for any other layerings as the little picot peeks out.  It’s just a subtle way to bring in the ways of classic needlework to give texture and dimension to the backdrop of our cards.

Each of our Creative Team members will show you their take on cards made with a classic picot flair.

My Projects For Today

Am happy to introduce Spellbinders S5-433 Picot Petite Oval Etched Dies

I have created a Easel card for this hop. I have used the largest die for the cardbase and smallest one as a stopper. Layered the front panel with the larger and medium die to adorn the card with Handmade flowers.

Die cut the florals in white cardstock, colored them using Distress ink and spritzed slightly with water to shape them.

To make this tiny basket, took the largest oval die and placed at middle of scoring board (6″). Look for the centre and scored 2 lines on either side. Turned around the die-cut and did the same procedure. Cut at scored lines as shown. Fold it to make basket as shown in the image. Placed an oval die-cut for little interest. This tiny basket can be used to fill with little treats and flowers.

Here is the Spellbinders video showing amazing new samples as well as a walkthrough of the entire collection.
