Watercolor Florals and Brush Lettering!!

In the series of Watercoloring and Brush Lettering combo, i did two artworks in Canton Montval watercolor paper with Gansai Tambi watercolors and did some Lettering by Kuretake Fudebiyori Metallic brush pens.

Yay!!! I never craft during my vacation at India…But this time, i wanna practice these newly learnt art forms, whenever i have little free time.

Truly i could see differences in my watercolor painting and acquired a bit confidence in brush strokes, as i mostly work with coloring stamped images, within boundaries.
This truly let my soul set free…

Hope you like it!!

More to come….Stay Tuned 🙂

Guest Designing at IBS

Hi friends,

This is Sathya from Paperie Expressions. Am excited to share my Guest Design project for the month of June at IBS. If you have missed my earlier post using two Fabulous floral stamps, you can check here .

For today, i have come up with a mixed media project, using Gorgeous Butterflies Stampset.

Let’s get started!

  • Took 5″x7″ canvas and gessoed it with Clear Gesso.
  • Added Wendy Veichchi Embossing paste (Translucent) on the diagonal corners of the canvas and with that added cheesecloth.
  • Few strings are randomly to create further textures.
  • The canvas is misted with Lindy’s gang sprays.
  • The butterflies are stamped using Black Archival ink and colored using Gelatos. Highlights are added using Fabercastell Polychromos pencils.

  • Then colored butterflies are fussy cut, Ranger’s UTEE clear Heat embossed.
  • The canvas is randomly stamped using script stamp from Forever friends stampset and black archival ink.
  • Same stamp is stamped onto a chipboard and added as a focal interest.
  • To that added a vellum strip of sentiment from the Butterflies stampset.
  • Few Prima mini art stones and some gold glitter dots are added randomly for interest.
  • Finally butterflies are added using Hot glue gun.

Hope you liked today’s project.

Guest Designing at IBS

Hi Stampers!

Thrilled to be here as Guest Designer for the month of June, at Inspired by Stamping.
Thank you Joanna, for this awesome opportunity to showcase my talent in your blog using your Gorgeous Stamps. Absolutely enjoyed using those beautiful stampsets.

Am here today to share two cards using Gorgeous floral stamp sets from IBS store.

First card:

Its a simple CAS card, which uses the focal element as cherry blossom cluster, from the Stampset Cherry Blossoms.

  • Took Neenah solar white cardstock in the size 4×5.25″.
  • Stamped the cherry blossom using Alcohol marker friendly ink – Memento Tuxedo Black ink here.
  • Colored the image with Chameleon markers carefully inside the periphery of the images.
  • Then the whole image, is highlighted using blue shade of chameleon marker over the outer periphery of whole image so as to pop the image.
  • Finally Fabercastell Polychromos colored pencils are used to bring out shades and shadows to the images.
  • Sentiment is stamped from the same stampset using Memento tuxedo black ink.
  • Few clear dew droplets were added as accents.
  • Then the focal panel is added to the standard A2 sized black card base.

Second card:

For this card, i made use of Gorgeous Magnolia Stampset, giving it a bit of Mixed media touch.

  • Took  12x12cm top fold kraft cardbase.
  • Then took a white focal panel which is bit lesser in size, is distressed around the edges.
  • Bit of stenciling done using TCW- Tile using Prima Light base tinted with Hickery Smoke Distress ink.
  • Colored ornated chipboard using Black soot distress ink
  • Used No line coloring technique for the Magnolia images using Fabercastell polychromes pencils.
  • Fussy cut it and kept aside.
  • Added the ornated chipboard onto the focal panel with fussy cut image on top and white doily as base.
  • Spanish moss, Prima artstone, tinted cheese cloth (Peeled paint distress ink) added along with the colored image, which is popped using Scotch foam adhesive.
  • Sentiment is stamped on vellum using Archival ink and added to the focal panel.
  • The focal panel is then mounted onto the kraft cardbase using foam adhesives.
  • Few enamel dots are added to finish off the card.

Hope you all enjoyed today’s projects. I can’t wait for you to see my second post.

Thanks much for stopping by!

Love,
Sathya
