Vintage card – Just for U :)

Its my second time try at Vintage style. Earlier card can be seen here. Love this style for the dark tones of brown, beige, tans, black hues and still creating magic.

This is the last card for this year 2014 and also DT inspiration card for the Cardabilities challenge.

Felt like IBS Vintage floral PP is so apt for this theme and so matted this against the black CS. To achieve the look, pp is roughed, rolled at edges using scissors, distressed with vintage photo DI and to give a bit more darker shade, distressed pp at various places and stamped randomly with IBS script stamp from Friends forever stamp set using same DI. Am in love with the effect it has created on bg.

Used Doily die and cut the doilies of various sizes in brown CS. And on it, arranged the floral using Joycrafts die. This time, tried a different flower other than my usual flower style. Hope you like it!

Closer shot of flowers

For stamens, used CLD embellishment dies and cut in black CS. The rose strips are diecut in white and distressed with Vintage photo DI and the florishes of black and white to balance the flowers.
Sentiment is stamped in oval scallop diecut and distressed with DI.

Thats all from me 🙂

Wishing all my readers, blogger-pals, a very very Happy and Wonderful New Year 2015. May your days ahead be more joyous and lovely 🙂

Thanks so much for the support and lovely comments, which is the only source of driving force for me.

Sketch #112

Karen Gerber, known for the awesome sketches at Cardabilities and each one of it, is my favorite.
Visit the blog to see my fellow DTs awesome inspirations for the challenge.

And about my card..

Patterned paper is matted on to the base CS and distressed the edges. Wanted to go for muted tones and so this attempt of creating a flower cluster which is much similar to the pp tone.

Gessoed down the central portion of the pp to tone down the pp a bit and on that the flower cluster are placed.  Tessatina border , Medical gauze, Raffia, pollens, along with the Floral spray and the diecut leaves which are distressed with weathered wood.

Few pearls to finish off the card with the sentiment on a banner near the cluster and random splashes of inks.

Hope you like the card.

Supplies:

CS – Fabriano brusto
PP – Hand made memories 12/1 2paperstack
Dies – Joycrafts floral florishes, CLD ivy leaves, Memory box Tessatina border

Wintry WOW !

My first post in this new year 2014…

Have done 3 White on white cards earlier and this one is so apt for the season 🙂
Done this card with just Cherry Lynn Designs Dies only 🙂

As the day is so gloomy today, unable to capture a proper pic 🙁

The White CS is used as card front on which snowflakes are heat embossed with White Ep. And the central focal point is a strip of White Thai natural fiber paper is added to give a wintry feel and to both ends added a strips of punched MS deco shell laces.

The central foliage is made from Cherrylynn Tropical florish, Cherry lynn Olive branches to it added five petal mini flowers from Cherry  lynn Embellishments B256. The two white flaky flowers are made using stamens of various sizes from the same CL Embellishment B256 dies.

Just love the Sunflower die and have used in many of my earlier projects here, here, here and here . Its one die which i very often attempt to give variation to the flowers. Hope you all like it!!!
Here the big flower is filled with pearls and few pearls of various sizes are used to create a bit interest.

And for the centre, sentiment is heat embossed using Zing Silver Embossing powder on a vellum. Its my first attempt using Vellum, Thai natural fiber paper and few other dies. Just loved using the fibre paper and for its lovely texture, going to use it often. And the butterfly is added and its a diecut from Cherry Lynn small exotic butterfly die.

Hope you like it!

White on White card :)

This time its a monochromatic card…and its a WOW card again..Earlier cards you can see here and here.
This card is a combination of dies, border punch and embossing.
Diwali sweets and savories preparation is well started yesterday at my home and just squeezed my time to do this card as a bit relief from my hand ache…Ya crafting is a therapy too 🙂

Thinking of my Sweet granny at this moment as she used to do so many varieties of sweets and savories for Diwali and she used to start 4-5 days before Diwali and inbetween there will be lot of neighbour friends asking for recipes, trial versions of those recipes will be going on at my home…She never complained of handache at all…She was an expert cook 🙂 Really miss u dear ma…

Coming to my card

White CS is embossed using spots embossing folder and on it used a negative of 2nd large Timeless rectangle Spellbinder die as frame. To it added the tessatina border as trellis. White doily is added and mounted this on top of the base white CS whose one end is punched using MS double arches.

A white satin ribbon is pleated and a bow is added on the middle of pleats and its hanging over the edge with the punched border. Frame Venetian panel taken whose edges are embossed using Zing clear EP using heat gun and on to it added the sentiment.

Tropical flourish, mum bloom and few small flowers are added with a butterfly at a corner. Rhinestone, few pearls are as final touch.

Hope you like it.

Wishing all my visitors, readers and fellow blogger pals, a very happy and wonderful Diwali. Have a fantastic festival of lights 🙂
